Joseph McGuire, CCM, CCE

Title

General Manager/COO

Joe McGuire has served as General Manager of the Country Club of Maryland since 2014. Prior to joining CCMD, Joe spent seven years with Troon Golf - a Scottsdale, Arizona based Club Management Company that manages over 200 golf and resort properties world-wide. Joe has held management positions at Philadelphia Country Club (Gladwyne, PA), Fieldstone Golf Club (Greenville, DE) and Out Door Country Club (York, PA). Joe earned the ‘Certified Club Manager’ (CCM) designation from the Club Manager’s Association of America in 2013 and the ‘Certified Chief Executive’ (CCE) designation in 2021. In 2020, Joe was elected President of the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA).

Michael Healy, PGA

Title

PGA Golf Professional

Mike has served as our PGA Professional since October of 1999. Prior to joining the Country Club of Maryland, Mike started in the business at Longview Golf Course where he turned pro in 1986 and obtained his PGA Membership in 1989. He then served as PGA Professional at Geneva Farm Golf Club from 1989 to 1999. Mike attended Archbishop Curley High School and The University of South Carolina.

William Augustin

Title

Golf Course Superintendent

Bill grew up in Columbia, Maryland has a degree in Turf Grass Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating Bill headed south to Hilton Head, South Carolina to manage operations on the Fazio course at Palmetto Dunes.

Bill has been in the golf course industry for over 34 years, having also spent time at Turf Valley Resort & CC and Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland. He has worked countless USGA, PGA, and LPGA golf events.

In May of 1997 Bill joined the Country Club of Maryland. Bill enjoys spending time with his family.

John Koursaros

Title

Executive Chef

John began cooking as a teenager in Reading, Pennsylvania surrounded by the Greek and Pennsylvania Dutch foods of his heritage. He graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in history and began his lifelong passion for international travel. He continued his education at Towson University with a certification in education and Baltimore International Culinary College where he studied under Chef Peter Timmons and interned with Chef Roland Jeannier. John was Executive Sous Chef at the Country Club of Maryland from 1998 to 2021, demonstrating his dedication to the club and his love of cooking. He looks forward continuing his 27 year commitment to a quality member dining experience.

Owen Dawson, PGA

Title

Director of Instruction

As the first Director of Instruction on staff, PGA Member Owen Dawson has served at the CC of MD since 2001. Owen’s intro to the golf business started at Caves Valley in 1993 working on the greens crew for two summers. Starting in 1996 Owen worked at PGA National Resort and Eastpoint CC in Palm Beach Fl. Owen has held assistant positions at Bonnie View CC, Baltimore, MD, Hillendale CC, Phoenix MD (1998-2001) and CC of Maryland 2002-2010). Owen attended Calvert Hall and Towson State University

Beth Reynolds

Clubhouse Manager

Beth began her Private Club Career in 1998 at Hunt Valley Golf Club. In 2004 she became the Catering Director at Hillendale Country Club. In 2007 Beth joined us as Clubhouse Manager.

Carina has worked at the Country Club of Maryland since 2007. Starting in Reception she quickly got to know and respect our wonderful group of Members. Carina's admiration for the Club made her a perfect candidate when the job for Membership Director opened up. Feel free to contact her for any of your membership questions.

Yeliza Bernal

Title

Controller

Yeliza Bernal has served as the Controller of the Club since October 2021. Yeliza graduated with a Business Administration degree from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua, a private college in Panama City, Panama, and then got an MBA degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After moving to the United States in 2005, Yeliza spent 15 years working for Baltimore Country Club, where she held the Assistant Controller position and developed her interest and passion for the hospitality industry.

Molly Beidleman

Title

Catering Director

Molly Beidleman was born and raised in Towson Maryland, where she attended Roland Park Country School for 13 years. She then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC, where she focused on Social Media, Event Planning, and Brand Development. Upon graduation in the Spring of 2020 and the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Molly took a part time bartending and serving role at the Country Club of Maryland. The Club quickly became her second home, and she continued working as a server and bartender for over a year before taking on the role of Catering Director.

Leanne Franco

Director of Food & Beverage

Leanne Franco graduated from the University of New York at Cortland with a degree in Graphic Design and minor in Sport Management. After graduating Leanne started working for The New York Jets, Long Island University, and running and operating Sahlen’s Stadium events and tournaments in Rochester, NY. From then on, she broke into the country club industry at Midvale Country Club as their Director of Food and Beverage. Originally being from Upstate, NY she moved to Maryland to pursue her passion for the hospitality industry which led her to become the Director of Events at Chartwell Golf and Country Club and now our Director of Food and Beverage here at Country Club of Maryland.

Emily Kemp

Food & Beverage Manager

Emily became passionate about food at a very young age. As a child, she used to plan and serve at dinner parties at her house. As she got older, in keeping with this passion, she attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Business Management with a concentration in farm to table dining. After graduating in December 2020, she worked as a pizza cook in the small town of Eldersburg, Maryland where she grew up. She quickly fell in love with hospitality and connecting with people. This started her job serving and bartending at The Country Club of Maryland where she soon became the Food and Beverage Manager.

Ryan Velasquez

Food & Beverage Manager

Ryan Velasquez grew up in Harford County and has great pride for his state and all things ‘local’. Most recently having worked as Event Operations Manager at Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Ryan has developed a passion for local brews and enjoys sharing his knowledge of craft beers with others. Ryan's previous experiences at Maryland Golf and Country Clubs and Baltimore Country Club have enhanced his passion for the food and beverage industry within private clubs, leading to his position at the Country Club of Maryland as Food and Beverage Manager.
